Planned Parenthood, which holds itself up as a clean, safe, women-friendly environment, engages in the same disgusting practices: The week of April 7, 2013, a Planned Parenthood in Delaware that has sent five women to the emergency room since January had to stop doing abortions because of unsafe and unsanitary conditions similar to the ones found at Gosnell’s abortion mill. One nurse said of the operating room, “It’s not washed down, it’s not even cleaned off. It has bloody drainage on it.” She also said patients “could be at risk of getting hepatitis, even AIDS.” In late March, 2013, Planned Parenthood official from Florida testified that a baby born alive during an abortion should be allowed to be killed, saying, “We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.” Gosnell routinely killed babies born alive after an abortion – often by cutting their spinal cords. Apparently that’s a decision Planned Parenthood supports a physician like Gosnell making. In 2008, a New Jersey Planned Parenthood nurse told Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins that with an abortion after 22 weeks, the baby is delivered and can survive an abortion: “It does happen, where it’s still alive…but it wouldn’t be able to survive on its own, so eventually the baby does die.” Again, Planned Parenthood knows and supports abortions that result in babies born alive but left to die, as happened in Gosnell’s facility.

Pa. abortion doctor goes on trial in 8 deaths

Horrific! 

     ”PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Three years after drug agents searching a suspected “pill mill” at a West Philadelphia clinic instead found a medical “house of horrors,” an abortion doctor is going on trial on eight counts of murder.

…

“But some of those patients were left with infections, perforated bowels and other injuries after barbaric abortions were performed by untrained, unlicensed staff, according to numerous lawsuits and a lengthy 2011 grand jury report. And 41-year-old Karnamaya Mongar lost her life there in 2009.

“Jury selection starts Monday in the death penalty case. All but one of the nine clinic workers arrested with Gosnell have pleaded guilty, three of them to third-degree murder, which carries a potential 20- to 40-year prison sentence.

“Unlicensed doctor Steven Massof of Pittsburgh told the grand jury that he used scissors to snip the spines of more than 100 babies born alive. He worked for Gosnell for a few hundred dollars a week. He pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in the deaths of two babies allegedly stabbed by Gosnell while Massof assisted with the abortions.”

This is just one reason why the regulations, inspections, and medical standards that pro-aborts fight so hard against in the name of “choice” are so desperately needed. Gosnell’s abortion mill hadn’t been inspected in 17 years - from the grand jury report:

“The Pennsylvania Department of Health abruptly decided, for political reasons, to stop inspecting abortion clinics at all. The politics in question were not anti-abortion, but pro. With the change of administration from Governor Casey to Governor Ridge, officials concluded that inspections would be “putting a barrier up to women” seeking abortions.”

“Safe, legal and rare?” The only one pro-aborts care about is legal.
